SEATTLE -- Though happy about their progress this season, Seahawks fans are already looking forward to the team's future.

According to a Survey USA poll of 402 Seahawks fans on Monday, only two-thirds of them believed the Hawks deserved to make the playoffs with Sunday's win over the St. Louis Rams.

Based on the Seahawks' record, should they have made the playoffs? Or should they not have?

  • 62% Should
  • 30% Should Not
  • 7% Not Sure

Fans were impressed with the way backup quarterback Charlie Whitehurst rose to the challenge and more than half wouldn't mind if he started again Saturday against the New Orleans Saints.

Who should be the starting quarterback in next weekend's playoff game? Matt Hasselbeck? Or Charlie Whitehurst?

  • 39% Hasslebeck
  • 57% Whitehurst
  • 4% Not Sure

As for NFL newcomer Pete Carroll, fans seem to understand that traditionally college coaches struggle after transitioning to the pros, and therefore didn't set the bar too high for him this season.

Has the job Pete Carroll has done as head coach been better than you expected? Worse than you expected? Or about what you expected?

  • 31% Better
  • 9% Worse
  • 58% What You Expected
  • 2% Not Sure

Finally, as a team with a losing record who made the playoffs, Seahawks fans are definitely excited about the prospects of next year.

Thinking ahead to next season, do you think the Seahawks will do better than they did this season? Worse? Or about the same as this season?

  • 66% Better
  • 6% Worse
  • 26% Same

Margin of error ranged from +/- 4.7% to 4.9%. To view the complete data breakdown click here
