Seahawks go Action Green for new 'Color Rush' jerseys

The "Action Green" jerseys are for the Thursday night "Color Rush" game in December.

SEATTLE – The Seahawks’ green jerseys are back.

The NFL and Nike released this year’s Thursday Night Color Rush game uniforms and, as rumored, the Seahawks will wear lime green jerseys with blue numbers when they host the Los Angeles Rams in December.

They’ll also wear matching green pants.

The Seahawks call it "Action Green."

The Seahawks also posted this with the announcement on its website
Here in the Pacific Northwest,
Green surrounds us,
Green sustains us.
Green drives us forward…
As powerful, enduring and energizing as
the brightest greens of our region
We Are Blue,
We Are Green,

The Rams will wear yellow jerseys and pants with their throwback helmets.

The game will be played Dec. 15 on KING 5.

The jerseys are on sale online and available at Seahawks Pro Shop stores.

There have been some great reactions on social media to the jerseys.

The Seahawks wore green jerseys only once before in a game. It was during an ugly 25-19 loss at home to the Chicago Bears in 2009, three years before the current uniform style was adopted. After the game, Seahawks coach Jim Mora was quoted as saying the jerseys were retired because “We didn’t win in them.”

The team has worn green jerseys on the practice field since last season.
