Fanhouse.com reports the Mariners may be looking Padres bench coach Ted Simmons to be the club's next manager. Simmons has a history with M's G.M. Jack Zduriencik. They both worked together in the Pirates and Brewers organizations. Although, if the Mariners want someone with managerial experience, it really doesn't make much sense to go with Simmons. Much like Don Wakamatsu, he was a former catcher. But much like Wakamatsu, Simmons has no managerial experience.
