HENLEY, England - Three U.S. crews rowed to victory on a blustery final day of the Henley Royal Regatta.
The University of Washington took the Temple Cup for student eights, Harvard University won the Ladies' Plate for elite eights and a U.S. national squad racing as Princeton Training Center captured the Stewards' Cup for international coxless fours.
Washington had little trouble against its Dutch opponent, leading from the start in cruising to 4 1/4-length victory. The Princeton team edged a French national squad by three-quarters of a length.
Harvard took an early lead and had to resist a closing challenge from an English composite crew from Oxford University and Oxford Brookes University, crossing the line a third of a length up.
