EUGENE, Ore. -- The Nebraska Cornhuskers will make their first trip ever to Eugene to take on the Ducks in 2017, thanks to a new "home-to-home" series agreement between the teams.

The first game is set for Sept. 17, 2016 in Lincoln, Neb., where the two teams have played five of their last six games. They met for the first time in Portland in 1952.

The Nebraska game will be the first time the teams have played each other since 1986.

The teams will then meet at Autzen Stadium on Sept. 9, 2017.

“We are thrilled to be able to add a school with a rich tradition like Nebraska to our schedule,” said Oregon athletics director Rob Mullens. “Our scheduling philosophy has revolved around ensuring we have at least one game each season against a major non-conference opponent."

The Ducks have not beaten the Huskers since their second meeting, in 1953.
