Washington state sending six cross country skiers to Olympics

Siblings Eric and Sadie Bjornsen will be among six cross country skiers from Washington state to compete at the Olympics in Sochi.

Eric and Sadie, from Winthrop, were named to the U.S. team Wednesday along with Brian Gregg of Winthrop and now lives in Minneapolis, Torin Koos of Leavenworth and Holly Brooks, who was born in Seattle and now lives in Anchorage.

This will be the second Olympics for Koos and Brooks.

Roberto Carcelen of Seattle will also compete in cross country, but for his native Peru. Carcelen competed at the 2010 Games in Vancouver. He was the first Peruvian to ever qualify for the Winter Olympics.

The Olympics begin Feb. 6.
