SAMMAMISH, Wash. -- It's one last shot around Sahalee Country Club before the U.S. Senior Open officially tees off Thursday morning.
Throughout the U.S. Senior Open, 140,000 spectators are expected to attend the tournament, according to organizers. And to make it all possible are the nearly 3,000 volunteers, many of whom are from the Pacific Northwest.
One local volunteer says she's impressed by the sheer magnitude of putting together an event like the U.S. Senior Open.
"It's been exciting. It's very exciting. There's alot to learn it's such a beautiful golf, the weather is great it's just a fun place to be," said Marilyn Rutledge from Seattle.
For example, ever wonder about the guys who carry the signs with the player's names and scores? These volunteers are called "standard bearers."
One local teen says the most challenging part is keeping up with group and making sure the scores are right for the gallery to see.
"I love golf so I wanted to get involved. It's actually pretty tiring when it's hot out as you're walking," said Ben Whittaker of Sammamish.
Here's a list of some rules and etiquette at Sahalee Country Club during the U.S. Senior Open:
1. Autographs are permissible; however, not during a player's round.
2. Wednesday is the last day to take pictures. Cameras are not allowed after Wed when tournament begins.
3. Cell phones, PDA or other portable e-mail devices are NOT permitted on the grounds.
4. Absolutely No Food and/or Beverages.
