Western Washington will have a representative on the USA Olympic Men’s Hockey Team in Sochi next month.

T.J. Oshie was born in Mount Vernon and raised in Everett. The Everett Herald reports Oshie attended Lowell Elementary School and Evergreen Middle School.

He moved to Minnesota as a teenager and attended the University of North Dakota.

The 27-year-old currently plays for the St. Louis Blues. Not even halfway through his sixth season, he has 8 goals and 27 assists for a total of 35 points. That has him on pace to beat his career high of 54 points in a season.
