The Chicago Sun Times reports the Seahawks could be the odds on favorite to land free agent defensive end Julius Peppers. Here's the reason why. To put it in simple terms, they can Spend Paul Allen's Money (or SPAM as a friend of mine coined or at least he was the first person I've heard use that acronym). The Seahawks owner has shown in the past he's willing to spend money to put together a winning team. And it makes sense Peppers could be linked to Seattle. The Hawks spent big bucks to land DE Grant Wistrom and DE Patrick Kerney in the past. Allen swallow the remaining millions owed to Jim Mora and fired him so the Hawks could spend big bucks to hire Pete Carroll. So should this be the season of SPAM? Or should the Hawks be like other franchises and be more responsible with the owner's money?
