SEATTLE – Kim Little picked up her sixth goal of the season as the Seattle Reign FC remained undefeated in a 3-2 win over FC Kansas City Wednesday night. Seattle (7-0, 21 points) remains the only unbeaten team in the National Women’s Soccer League.

The scoring started in the 16th minute when defender Kendall Fletcher scored and celebrated with a backflip. Little scored in the 20th minute on a penalty kick, tying her for the league lead in goals with Kansas City’s Amy Rodriguez.

The Reign held Rodriguez scoreless, but was tested when Lauren Holliday scored in the 44th minute for Kansas City and Erika Tymrak tied it up in the 61st minute.

Seattle took the lead for good in the 76th minute when Keelin Winters sent a header into the goal just past a diving Nicole Barnhart.

“We lost shape and gave the ball away in the first half but we did well in the second half to deal with pressure and grind out a result," said Reign FC head coach and general manager Laura Harvey.

Seattle won despite missing three key players. U.S National Team defender Stephanie Cox sat with an ankle injury and USWNT forward Megan Rapinoe is still recovering from a foot injury. Forward Nahomi “Naho” Kawasumi is currently with the Japanese national team.

The Reign will face FC Kansas City again on the road next Wednesday.
