Thousands of screaming fans filled Red Square on the University of Washington campus this morning for ESPN's College GameDay broadcast.
It's the first time in the traveling show's 20-year history that it set up at UW - and fans did not disappoint.
GameDay's Kirk Herbstreit praised the UW and Seattle in a Tweet, saying "Great scene and amazing show today from UW..Seattle needs to bid on hosting the College Football Championship! What a great city!!"
Chris Fowler Tweeted "Thanks to 1000's of crazy #Washington fans in Red Square! You made 1st @CollegeGameDay here big fun for us. One of the best scenes ever"
While everyone was thrilled to appear on national TV, it was also a chance to show their school pride in the national spotlight.
ESPN says the University of Washington has been on the radar for 10 years.
The Huskies take on the 5-0 Oregon Ducks, the second-ranked team in the AP Top 25 football rankings. Washington, which is coming off a narrow loss to undefeated Stanford last Saturday, comes in at 4-1.
