SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Jerryd Bayless scored 31 points in his first start for injured All-Star Brandon Roy, leading the hobbled Portland Trail Blazers to a 98-94 victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night.

Portland played without Roy and center Joel Przybilla, who ruptured a tendon in his right leg in a win against Dallas on Tuesday to become just the latest Blazers player to go down.

But Portland still managed to win its third straight, all on the road, and now return home where Roy will have his sore left shoulder examined.

Tim Duncan had 24 points for the Spurs, who have struggled against stiff competition this season. San Antonio is 2-10 against teams with winning records.
