Johnson leads Oregon past Santa Clara 88-71

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Amanda Johnson scored a career-high 19 points and had 13 rebounds and Nicole Canepa also had 19 points to lead Oregon to an 88-71 win over Santa Clara on Tuesday night.

The Ducks (3-0) have scored 80 or more points in three consecutive games for the first time since the 2001-02 season.

Meagan Fulps had 16 points to lead the Broncos (1-3). Alyssa Shoji and guard Ashley Armstrong added 14 points apiece.

Santa Clara took a 14-6 lead to open the game, but Oregon responded with a 19-8 run and led the rest of the game. The Ducks, who were up 35-31 at halftime, opened the second half on a 28-9 run.

Micaela Cocks scored 18 points, including three 3-pointers for Oregon. A 3-pointer by Johnson gave the Ducks their largest lead of the game at 71-47.
