MIAMI (AP) — Giancarlo Stanton hit a grand slam with none out in the ninth inning, and the Miami Marlins took advantage of an overturned call on a replay review to beat the Seattle Mariners 8-4 last night. Reed Johnson was called out on a force play following a bunt, but the umpires reviewed the ruling and determined third baseman Kyle Seager had juggled the ball. The Mariners lost their fourth game in a row.

Maurer began last season in the Mariners' rotation and went 5-8 with a 6.30 ERA in 22 games. He'll replace Blake Beaven, who went on disabled list this week with a sore right shoulder.
