MONTREAL (AP) — Max Pacioretty scored three goals for his third career hat trick — despite missing two penalty shots — to help the Canadiens to a 5-2 victory over the Canucks that extended Vancouver's losing streak to six games. Chris Higgins and Alexander Edler scored for Vancouver and Roberto Luongo stopped 25 shots.

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — Digging in over the closing minutes, No. 2 Arizona overcame a rough shooting night to win in their first game without Brandon Ashley, grinding out a 67-65 victory over Oregon last night. Oregon (15-7, 3-7) held its composure in one of college basketball's toughest road arenas. Joseph Young and Jason Calliste had 14 points each and Damyean Dotson added 12 for the Ducks in another oh-so-close loss.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Brandon Taylor scored 20 points and Delon Wright added 19 to help Utah end a three game losing streak with a 78-69 victory over Washington last night. Jordan Loveridge added 16 points and 13 rebounds for the Utes (15-7, 4-6 Pac-12) who beat Washington at home for the first time since 1970. Utah pulled away in the second half despite committing 17 turnovers.

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Lindsay Sherbert scored 19 points and Haiden Palmer was two assists shy of a triple double as No. 20 Gonzaga rolled to an 86-51 win over Pepperdine yesterday. Palmer had 12 points, 10 rebounds and a career-high eight assists for the Bulldogs (21-3, 11-1 WCC), who won their 11th straight.
