CLEVELAND (AP) — Mark Reynolds' fielder's choice with the bases loaded in the ninth inning lifted the Cleveland Indians to a 5-4 victory over the Seattle Mariners yesterday. Seattle ace Felix Hernandez will start the third game of the four-game series today against Cleveland's Justin Masterson. Hernandez leads the AL with a 1.53 ERA and has a 5-2 record.

CLEVELAND (AP) — Two ninth-inning losses in two days have left the Seattle Mariners reeling and frustrated. Mark Reynolds' bases-loaded fielder's choice in the ninth yesterday scored Jason Kipnis and gave the Cleveland Indians a 5-4 victory over Seattle. On Friday night, Kipnis hit a game-ending three-run homer in the 10th inning to give Cleveland a 6-3 win.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — Second-half substitute Jose Valencia scored in the 83rd minute to give the Portland Timbers a 2-2 draw against the Vancouver Whitecaps last night. Will Johnson also scored for Portland and assisted on the equalizer to help the Timbers extend their unbeaten streak to 10 games. The tying goal came while Portland was playing with 10 men due to Mamadou Danso's ejection 2 minutes earlier.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Michael Conforto and Ryan Barnes each homered and Oregon State shutout Oregon 9-0 yesterday in the second of a three-game Civil War series at PK Park. Andrew Moore (11-1) threw a complete-game two hitter for the Beavers who popped into the lead of the Pac-12 standings with the victory. The Ducks had downed Oregon State 3-0 on Friday night to share the top spot.
