INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Paul George keyed a 13-0 run in the fourth quarter with seven of his 24 points to lead Indiana to an 81-76 win over New York in a battle of NBA division leaders. The Knicks were hurt by the absence of leading scorer Carmelo Anthony who sat out a one-game suspension for a run-in with Boston's Kevin Garnett after Monday night's game.
SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Kelly Olynyk scored 31 points to lead No. 9 Gonzaga to an 83-78 win over Saint Mary's in the latest installment of one of the best rivalries on the West Coast. Kevin Pangos added 22 points for 16-1 Gonzaga which has won seven straight since losing at home to Illinois. Stephen Holt led Saint Mary's with 23 points.
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Cincinnati offensive coordinator Jay Gruden has joined the growing list of candidates that have interviewed for the Arizona Cardinals' head coaching job. Gruden has extensive head coaching experience in the Arena Football League. He also worked on the staff of his brother Jon Gruden for seven years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Two-time Daytona 500 winner Michael Waltrip will enter NASCAR's premier event next month in a one-race deal with Swan Racing. The season-opening Feb. 24 race marks the debut for the team under new owner Brandon Davis, who has vowed the No. 30 car will no longer "start and park." David Stremme will take over as the full-time driver for the team for the rest of the season.
