RENTON, Wash. (AP) — Earl Thomas says there is no room on the Seattle Seahawks bandwagon. If you weren't on the ride already, Thomas says it's too late. There are plenty of folks latching on to the Seahawks considering how they are surging toward the postseason. Seattle won its fourth straight game when it beat up NFC West-leading San Francisco 42-13 on Sunday night before a national TV audience. The win over the 49ers legitimized everything Seattle has been building.
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas coach Bret Bielema (BEE'-leh-mah) says Washington running backs coach Joel Thomas will join the Razorbacks in the same position. Thomas has spent the past four seasons at Washington and has previously coached running backs at Purdue, Louisville and Idaho. Thomas coached the Huskies' running backs in Saturday's loss to Boise State in the MAACO Bowl. In the loss, Washington running back Bishop Sankey had 205 rushing yards and was named MVP.
UNDATED (AP) — The NHL's labor dispute drags on and there appears to be no end in sight. Christmas marks Day 101 of the league's lockout of the players. The two sides haven't met for in-person talks in 12 days and no new negotiating session has been set. So far, the NHL has cancelled all games through Jan. 14, including the New Year's Day Winter Classic and All-Star weekend.
