PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — J.J. Hickson had 19 points and 15 rebounds for his seventh straight double-double, and the Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Phoenix Suns last night for their fifth straight win. Rookie Damian Lillard had 25 points, including 18 in the second half. Sasha Pavolic and Lillard made consecutive 3-pointers as Portland pulled in front 92-85 with 4:02 left.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Eric Moreland and Roberto Nelson scored 20 points apiece as Oregon State beat San Diego 86-79 in the Las Vegas Holiday Hoops Classic last night. Devon Collier scored 18 points and Joe Burton had 13 for Oregon State. Moreland led the Beavers with 11 rebounds. He also made 7 of 8 field-goal attempts while Collier went 7 for 10.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Little Michael Frisina came up big for Boise State, kicking a 27-yard field goal with 1:16 left to give the No. 20 Broncos a 28-26 victory over Washington in the Las Vegas Bowl yesterday. Frisina, who stands 5-foot-5, made the winning kick after Washington had taken the lead for the first time on Travis Coons' 38-yard field goal. Boise State sealed the win when Jeremy Ioane intercepted Keith Price's pass as the Huskies neared midfield.

NEW YORK (AP) — A person familiar with the negotiations tells The Associated Press that Raul Ibanez and the Seattle Mariners have agreed to a $2.75 million, one-year contract. The deal allows Ibanez to earn an additional $1.25 million in performance bonuses, the person said last night, speaking on condition of anonymity because the agreement had not been announced.
