SEATTLE (AP) — Jazmine Davis scored a career-high 28 points to lead Washington to a 77-48 rout of Arizona on Thursday night in Hec Edmundson Pavilion.
Washington (11-7, 3-5) went up 7-0 in the first 1:46 of the game, which was a preview of the rout that was to ensue.
Davis scored 22 of her points in the first half. She was 8 for 11 from the field and 3 for 5 from 3-point range during that time.
Washington's Regina Rogers added her fifth double-double of the season with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Mackenzie Argens added 10 points and eight rebounds.
Arizona (13-7, 2-6) was led by Shanita Arnold's 11 points, and has lost three consecutive games to fall to the bottom of the Pac-12. Davellyn White, who was averaging 19.1 points per game coming into the game, finished with 10.
The Wildcats started the season 11-1, but have lost five of their last six in conference play.
The win snapped Washington's two-game losing streak.
Davis, a freshman, drove all the way to the basket and pulled up for jump shots to vary her scoring. She put on a similar display against Colorado earlier in the season when she scored 21 points. Davis' 28 points was the fourth highest total by a freshman in Washington history.
Her personal onslaught coupled with Arizona's turnovers and general ineffectiveness helped Washington to a 49-21 halftime lead. The 49 points were the most Washington has scored in a half this season, and more than it scored total in each of the last two games during losses at California and Stanford.
Arizona committed 23 turnovers in the game, shot just 30.5 percent from the field and 21.7 percent from behind the 3-point line during a thoroughly dismal outing.
