NEAR GRANITE FALLS, Wash. – The bodies of a man and woman were found on a wooded trail Tuesday morning, but sheriff's investigators say they don't suspect foul play.
A couple of campers came across the bodies, which park rangers say were bloody, near Red Bridge on the Mountain Loop Highway.
"It looks like a makeshift campsite. It's an area that's popular to go camping but it's not an official campground," said Rebecca Hover, Snohomish County Sheriff's Office spokesperson.
The sheriff's office won't say how the two people died, but say they are not looking for any suspects.
From their campsite just up the road, Matt and Stacy Fortner heard two gunshots Monday night.
"Didn't think twice about it, you know. Now that we know, there's obviously some concern about what's going on here," said Matt.
