Flood watches canceled on most Western Washington rivers

CARNATION, Wash. – Less than expected overnight rain have eased concerns about flooding along most Western Washington rivers. All flood watches that were issued Thursday night have been canceled.

KING 5 Meteorologist Rich Marriott says a front is moving through the Puget Sound area and will turn the steady rain Friday morning to off and on showers in the afternoon. Check the forecast

Flood warnings remain on the Cedar and Green rivers as water continues to be released from reservoirs. This is to lower water levels so they are ready for additional rain.

Marriott says there is some concern overr potential new landslide activity, particularly along or near the Cascades.
