Keisha Burns

Weather Anchor

Keisha Burns joined Northwest Cable News in December 2009 as a Weather Anchor for the weekday mornings.

Prior to coming to Western Washington, Keisha worked as a weekend Weathercaster/ Anchor and weekday general assignment reporter for KTVZ in Bend, Oregon. Keisha covered stories including severe weather, crime and politics. Before then, she worked as a weekend anchor and dayside reporter for KGWN-TV in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Keisha graduated from Cal State University Northridge, with a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism and a Minor in Geography. She interned at KTTV Fox 11 News and PBS's KCET in Los Angeles.

Although a Southern California native, Keisha says she instantly fell in love with the constant changing, yet extraordinary weather of the Pacific Northwest and the challenge it presents in forecasting. Keisha is currently attending Mississippi State’s on-line Broadcast Meteorology Program to obtain her Broadcast Meteorology certification.

Keisha comes from a big family of three brothers and two sisters and--although she misses her family back home in Southern California and her friends in Oregon--she is happy to make Seattle her home.

During her free time, Keisha enjoys reading, attending jazz concerts, playing tennis, bike riding and traveling. She also enjoys the beautiful mountains of the Cascades, where she can partake in some of her favorite activities including camping and mountain biking.
