Mary Lee

Meteorologist

Mary is excited to come back to the West Coast, after spending 6 years forecasting severe weather in Texas. She loves living close to her parents again, who have a home in Silverdale. Her dad worked as a mechanical engineer for more than a decade at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.

Before KING5, Mary worked at KXAN in Austin. She wanted to experience and forecast wild Texas weather, and she got it! Her first weekend on the job, the area saw the worst flooding in 50 years. More than 18 inches of rain fell in Marble Falls in a matter of hours! Mary says it was incredible to see streets suddenly turn into rivers in an instant.

From Austin, she joined KPRC in Houston. Mary covered everything from hurricanes, tropical storms, flash flooding, severe thunderstorms and even an ice storm. Mary flew with Hurricane Hunters into the eye of Hurricane Isaac. She was inside the storm as it made landfall along the Louisiana coast. Mary says it was one of the most memorable experiences of her life!

She also had stints at KOVR in Sacramento and KHSL in Chico.

A true foodie, Mary can't wait to try all the amazing restaurants here in the Pacific Northwest! Definitely tell her your fave foodie suggestions!

Mary is the proud momma to her cute, chihuahua Rosco!
