The Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games begin on Feb. 12. Given that it's a competition between nations, it makes sense that each nation's fans were given a certain number of tickets.

For those in the United States, the only individual tickets available right now – as of November 4, 2009 -- are tickets to the closing ceremony and some ice hockey matches. But that's on the official Olympics seller's site, www.prosport.com.

If you go to, say, Stub-Hub, you'll see there are plenty of tickets for sale. The question is, can you be sure these tickets are legit? The answer is yes. We talked with a spokesperson for Stub-Hub who said "Our relationship with a small number of pre-approved sellers means that the public can buy tickets to the winter games with peace of mind.”

However, the official Vancouver Olympics tickets site does offer tickets other than single-sale tickets. They also offer “hospitality and accommodations packages.”

These are either bundled packages of tickets – to, say, three or four different events – or tickets that also come with hotel stays. The place to check? Right here: http://www.cosport.com/

If you decide to get tickets and go, and you need a place to stay, here’s a good place to start.

Generally speaking, hotels are almost completely booked up in Vancouver for the duration of the Olympic Games. However, there is plenty of availability. If you want to check it out, the best place to start is http://www.2010DestinationPlanner.com.
