Aloha, Ore. – A large fir tree was struck by lightning at a home in Aloha Sunday morning as thunderstorms moved through the Portland metro area.
Around 11:30 a.m., a thunderstorm system moved into Washington County and lightning struck the massive multi-trunked tree that fractured, with limbs damaging two homes on Southwest Hennig Court.
No one was injured but residents of one home will seek temporary housing while a tree service assesses the damage.
KGW Meteorologist Jim Donovan said the forecast for the rest of the week has been changing. There may be more showers overnight Monday with Friday and much of the coming weekend looking wet.
