BOISE -- Prosecutors want a 66-year-old Idaho woman to forfeit $9 million as part of their indictment against her on numerous federal charges including wire fraud and obstruction of justice.

Elaine Martin of Meridian was indicted Monday by grand jury in U.S. District Court in Boise.

Martin, a former Associated General Contractors president, faces prison time, if convicted.

In addition, 67-year-old Boise resident Darrell Swigert, a prominent Idaho hockey supporter, was charged with obstructing a federal proceeding.

Martin and Swigert own Marcon, Inc., a highway guard rail installer in Oregon, Idaho, Nevada and Utah.

Among other things, prosecutors say Martin caused false tax returns to be filed, concealing her wealth while participating in federal program to help economically and socially disadvantaged businesses.

To qualify, applicants must have assets below a certain threshold.
