SPOKANE – Outside Magazine ranked Spokane in its top 10 towns to be active, crediting the city for low commute time, easy access to green space, paddling and biking
Spokane’s tourism bureau, Visit Spokane, already uses the tagline, “Near nature. Near perfect.” Visit Spokane’s executive director of business development, T.J. Hake, said a mention like this leads to more exposure, and in turn, more people wanting to visit Spokane.
“This can absolutely bring tourism to our town,” Hake said. “The tentacles are gonna go everywhere.”
While it is impossible to measure exactly how many tourists or how much money something like Outside Magazine’s mention could bring to Spokane, Visit Spokane quantifies the impact of one of these polls by tracking the reach of it.
Outside Magazine has about 700,000 subscribers, 70,000 followers on Twitter and more than 100,000 “likes” on Facebook.
