SPOKANE, Wash. -- The owner of a former Spokane area spa which was shutdown by authorities has launched a new business 300 miles away.

The owners of several Asian spas across Spokane were targeted in a 2012 bust. They were accused of being part of a prostitution ring and arrested by authorities.

Documents now claim that one of those suspects has opened a strip club in Portland. Spokane County authorities will not comment on the development but said that they are aware of the new business.

Diamonds Gentlemen’s Club opened last fall in the Laurelhurst neighborhood of Portland. The Willamette Week newspaper uncovered documents which shows William Westover as one of the owners. Spokane authorities said Westover owned two Asian spas in the Spokane area.

Westover faced a judge in July 2012 and was accused of promoting prostitution. He was also charged with money laundering according to court documents regarding Operation Red Light.

The Willamette Week said Portland city leaders have recommended against letting Diamonds have a liquor license in light of Westover’s arrest.
