PORTLAND - Police said Tuesday afternoon a bicyclist in North Portland could be the latest victim to be targeted with a paintball gun.

Ricardo Medina, 36, of Vancouver, told officers he was riding on North Vancouver Avenue near Skidmore Street when a vehicle pulled up and a passenger fired at him, Portland police said. Medina was not hit.

"They just stopped in the middle of the road. All of a sudden they pulled out this gun," Medina said.

Minutes later, the victim said the car came back around the street.

"I got off my bike and confronted them. That's when they kept pushing me, pushing me," he said.

The driver began to drive forward slowly, pushing Medina backwards, police said. He was not seriously hurt. When neighbors approached, the driver took off.

The suspects were described as men in their late teens or early 20s. The vehicle was described as a light-colored, newer Honda Civic four-door.

Portland police said although no other official reports have been filed, they have heard this happened to three other bicyclists in the same area this month.

Anyone with information was asked to call police.
