COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho -- A toddler was listed in stable condition following a fall from a second floor window.

It happened Friday evening in the 1400 block of Hyacinth in Coeur d’Alene.

Medics rushed the victim to Kootenai Medical Center and is now stable. Police say the child is 1-2 years old.

Family members of the child say he has a cut on his head and a fat lip.

Police are still looking into if the window was open, shut or locked.

The toddler's family says a turtle-shaped sandbox may have saved the boys life. They say someone moved the sandbox right under the window the child fell out of earlier that day and it broke his fall.

Detectives will release more information next week.
