PORTLAND – A robber held up a Southeast Portland convenience store at gunpoint Saturday evening, police said.

Just before 10 p.m., and armed suspect walked into KC’s Mini Mart at 7474 SE 72nd Avenue and demanded money, said Sgt. Pete Simpson of the Portland Police Bureau.

The clerk, however, refused to give the man any money, so the suspect set the gun on the counter and took money from the register before fleeing on foot, Simpson said.

The gun turned out to be an AirSoft replica gun.

The suspect was described as an African American man with a medium build, wearing a dark hooded jacket, blue jeans and gloves.

Anyone with information was asked to call police at (503) 823-0405.
