SPOKANE -- Spokane Police responded to a robbery call at Bargain Giant Food in northeast Spokane Saturday evening.

Officers responded to the market at 2103 E. Empire around 7:15 p.m.

Witnesses said the robber walked into the store, asked a clerk for money, showed a semi-automatic hand-gun and ran off.

6 to 8 blocks in the area were shut down while police brought a K-9 unit to search.

Officers said the K-9, Rav, tracked the suspect to a house in the 1900 block of E. Empire.
Police said they arrested the suspect after finding possible evidence. Authorities did not release the suspect’s name, but said he was arrested on an unrelated warrant.

Detectives are still investigating the incident.
