SPOKANE, Wash.-- Spokane County authorities arrested two people into believed to be involved in selling drugs.

On Thursday, a Spokane Valley Sheriff’s deputy was observing a well known drug house near 300 N. Argonne when he called in for extra help.  He observed multiple hand to hand transactions with people in the driveway of the home, he believed to be drug deals.

Deputies followed three cars as they left the home with drivers believed to have been involved in the transactions.  As one deputy attempted to pull over Daymond Nearpass, 26, he watched him reach under the front seat.  As he searched the car, he found a golf ball sized amount of methamphetamine.  He also located a scale and plastic baggies commonly used to package illegal drugs to sell.  Nearpass said he had no idea where the large amount of methamphetamine came from, according to authorities.

A second deputy attempted to stop Ronald Hanson, 29, but he failed to pull over his car.  The deputy followed Hanson as he drove at a high rate of speed on Interstate 90 before getting off on the Broadway exit.  A third deputy joined in the pursuit and successfully stopped the car using a pit maneuver.

Hanson was booked into the Spokane County Jail on the charge of Felony Eluding, as well as, an unrelated misdemeanor Driving While Suspended warrant.  His driving status was suspended as well.

Nearpass was booked into jail on the felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver.
