GARDEN CITY -- A Garden City man is behind bars after police say he attacked another man with a foot-and-a-half long machete.
Garden City Police arrested 21-year-old Anthony Calvillo just before 5 p.m. Monday at 207 East 44th Street after police heard he was armed with a machete and arguing with another man.
Calvillo took off but was found a few blocks away.
Investigators say the 41-year-old victim had cuts on his hand and fingers, and was treated and released by Ada County Paramedics.
Police also arrested 19-year-old Hope Barbee of Meridian who is being charged for misdemeanor providing false information to police officers. Police say Barbee was with Calvillo during the incident and then intentionally hid him from officers. Barbee was booked into the Ada County Jail.
Calvillo was arraigned Tuesday afternoon on a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. A judge set is bond at $200,000 and issued him a public defender. He also issued a no-contact order with the victim. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 26.
