NEWPORT, Wash. -- Pend Oreille County Sheriff’s Deputies say they found the student behind a recent bomb threat at Sadie Halstead Middle School.

Someone found those threats written in two of the school’s bathrooms Friday, February Fourth, leading officials to evacuate the school. Authorities did not find any explosive devices.

Deputies and Newport school officials interviewed a 14-year-old male student Tuesday afternoon. Deputies say he confessed to writing the threat.

School officials expelled the student. He now faces criminal charges in juvenile court of Threats to Bomb or Injure Property.
