MOUNTAIN HOME -- An accident involving a semi-trailer slowed eastbound traffic on Interstate 84 near Mountain Home for nearly two hours this afternoon.
Idaho State Police say the truck driver was injured and flown to a Boise hospital. No word on the extent of his injuries. No other vehicles were involved.
The Idaho Transportation Department issued a traffic alert just before 3 p.m. stating that both lanes of I-84 were blocked between Exit 74, Simco Road, and Exit 95, Mountain Home city limits.
The crash was located between milepost 90 and 91, about one to two miles west of the Mountain Home area.
At 3:47 p.m., ITD issued a second alert stating that one lane was back open. About an hour later both lanes were open again.
Police say foggy conditions on the interstate east of Boise was the cause of several accidents Wednesday morning.
