PORTLAND – A man beat three other men with a pipe while they were drinking together by the freeway in Portland Saturday morning, police said.
At 10:19 a.m., police learned that the four men were drinking together at Northeast 2nd Avenue and Clackamas Street when a fight broke out and 55-year-old Michael Oswald turned on the other three and started hitting them with a pipe, said Sgt. Pete Simpson.
None of the victims suffered life-threatening-injuries, Simpson said.
Police arrested Oswald after finding him behind the State Hospital trying to climb a fence.
He was booked in the Multnomah County Jail and charged with three counts of assault.
