HARRINGTON, Wash. -- A police pursuit through Lincoln Co. ended when deputies deployed spike strips to stop the suspect’s vehicle.

A deputy noticed a black Honda CRX, believed to belong to a burglary suspect, driving through Harrington, Wash. early Friday morning.

The sheriff’s office says Justin R. Derby, 26, fled east on Highway 28 when a deputy attempted to pull over the car. The spike strips ended the pursuit, but Derby allegedly tried to make away on foot.

Derby was quickly caught and booked into Lincoln Co. jail.

He now faces burglary, eluding and theft charges, among others.

Police say they found items recovered from burglaries committed in Sprague, Harrington and Edwall this week.

The Lincoln Co. Sheriff’s Office says Derby fled to Spokane from Iowa while on probation.
