Washington women's-to-men's earnings ratio among lowest in US

According to a report by the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, in 2011 women in Washington state earned 74.5 percent compared to their male counterparts.

Women’s earnings as a percent of men’s in Washington ranked 48th in the nation, out of 50 states and the District of Columbia.

The median weekly earnings for full-time and salaried women was $743 compared to $997 in median weekly earnings for men.

Nationally, women earned $684 per week, or about 82 percent of the $832 median for men.

The earnings ratio decreased two percent from 2010 and was the lowest on record since 2006.
