SPOKANE -- Plan some extra time to get to work Monday morning. Drivers could be in for a messy commute.

Snow will increase across the Inland Northwest beginning Sunday night and continuing through Tuesday. Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for the Spokane area and the northern portion of the Idaho Panhandle.

Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for the Coeur d'Alene region southward to the Idaho Palouse into early Tuesday.

Approximately 1-3 inches of snow is expected in eastern Washington with upwards of 2-5 inches in northern Idaho. Up to 12" of new snow may be seen in the Idaho Palouse.

By Tuesday, snow showers are likely with rain or snow showers expected on Wednesday and Thursday. Conditions should turn drier toward the end of the week.
