MERIDIAN -- Officials at Lewis and Clark Middle School in Meridian say a pipe and sprinkler head in the school's weight room burst around 11:30 a.m., the room to fill with water.
The flood triggered the fire alarm and led to an evacuation.
We are told everyone is safe and that no one was using the weight room when the pipe burst.
Students were only outside in the cold for about six to seven minutes before being let back in the building.
The fire department was called to the scene and helped cleanup the flooded room.
An email was sent out to parents apprising them of the situation. Classes have resumed as scheduled.
