BEAVERTON – A family of four was displaced after their apartment caught on fire while they were at church Sunday, firefighters said.
The fire broke out at the Canyon Park Apartments in Beaverton at 4200 SW 107th Avenue just after 11:30 a.m. No one was hurt, said Walter Peck with Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue.
The blaze blew out a window, ignited siding and traveled up the building from the apartment where the fire began, Peck said.
Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire and most of the damage was limited to the unit where the fire began, Peck said.
The Red Cross responded to help those displaced by the fire, and investigators were working to determine the cause of the fire.
