A 39-year-old man and his dog have been located safe and sound by the Mountain Rescue search team Thursday.
The snowshoer had gotten off-route when his dog became stuck in a tree well. It was dark when he finally freed the dog, so he activated the S.O.S. function on his spot messenger and stayed put.
Both the man and the dog are uninjured.
The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office said the beacon first went off around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The family of the Seattle man told the sheriff’s office that he is an experienced hiker.
