BEAVERTON – A man crashed his SUV into a Beaverton gas station Sunday afternoon, causing a wall to collapse on a female clerk, police said.

Just before 2 p.m., 73-year-old Gabriel Sugarman crashed his 2003 Cadillac Escalade into the wall of the Chevron at 14470 Southwest Allen Boulevard while trying to park, said Det. Sgt. Jim Shumway with the Beaverton Police Department.

The impact caused an interior wall to collapse on the 39-year-old woman who was working behind the counter.

Sugarman told police he accidentally pressed the gas instead of the brake while trying to park. He was cited for careless driving.

The injured clerk was taken to the hospital.
