BOISE -- Starting Monday, Boise residents can recycle their Christmas trees curbside on their regular trash pickup day.

This week's tree pickups apply to Ada County, but exclude the cities of Meridian and Eagle, which had their pickups last week.

Tree must be cut into four-foot legnths or shorter, tree branches must be bundled, and weigh less than 60 pounds. Republic Services Inc. says trees must also be set away from regular trash carts and cans and be 100% decoration free.

Also this year, residents can put out compostable paper leaf bags with leaves and yard waste during the week of Christmas tree collection.

In Nampa, you can drop off trees at Kohlerlawn Cemetery on 6th Street. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The trees will be mulched and used throughout the city of Nampa on walking paths and tree wells.
