SPOKANE -- A morning snow fall took some drivers off guard as they hit the road Sunday morning.
Light snow flurries started late Saturday night, but picked up speed around 4:00 a.m.
One inch of snow accumulated at the Spokane Airport, but some areas saw a bit more.
Spokane City snow plows dispatched before dawn. The street crews initially concentrated their efforts on hills.
Black ice covered in the dusting of snow caused a handful of slide-offs Sunday.
