SEATTLE - The crew of a 40-foot fishing vessel is back on dry land after the US Coast Guard towed them to safety near La Push.
Just before 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, the Coast Guard received a mayday call from the four-member crew of the Jayden Ray after the vessel washed up on rocks and was not able to deploy its anchor.
The Coast Guard deployed a 47-foot motor lifeboat crew from Station Quilayute River near La Push to the scene. The motor lifeboat crew was able to navigate through the rocks and throw over a towline and bring the vessel and its crew back to La Push.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
