SPOKANE -- Spokane Police fished a man out of the Spokane River just before noon Tuesday.

Police said officers were pursuing the man, when he jumped off the Monroe Street Bridge.

Emergency crews launched a river rescue, and plucked the man out of the water in between the Monroe and Maple Street Bridges.

Officers did not say why they were pursing the suspect.
