MELBA -- The man who led sheriff's deputies on a low-speed chase and into a standoff situation Friday has been arrested without further incident.

Authorities say the situation started just before 1 p.m.

That's when deputies tried to stop a truck driven by Thomas Clayton Goff, 54, who they say was involved in an domestic dispute where a gun was fired on Shady Grove in Kuna earlier Friday.

No one was reported injured in the shooting.

Ada County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Andrea Dearden says Goff didn't stop when deputies attempted to pull him over, but instead led them on a chase that ended at a relative's home on Melba Road in rural Canyon County.

Both Ada and Canyon County sheriff's deputies, along with Idaho State Police troopers responded to the standoff situation.

Goff refused to surrender peacefully. Dearden says with others inside the home, officers were concerned he may go in the home and escalate the situation. Officers negotiated with Goff for about an half hour before using less-than-lethal munitions to take Goff into custody.

Canyon County dispatchers say Goff was arrested shortly before 2 p.m.

Detectives are continuing to investigate.

Dearden says Goff could face several charges including misdemeanor domestic battery, discharging a weapon within city limits, driving under the influence, misdemeanor eluding and resisting arrest.
